Description of key information

According to EU Method A.14, it is not necessary to carry out the test for 'Explosive properties' if the examination of the structure shows that the substance has no reactive groups which could lead to quick decomposition with the formation of gases or heat. The test substance has no such reactive groups (that indicate a rapid decomposition). Further, it was not considered to be flammable and did not react violently in a flammability test. Therefore, it was not expected to possess explosive properties.

This was further confirmed by the absence of explosive properties in two studies conducted with a powder as well as liquid forms of the test substance according to EU Method A.14 (Keipert 2001 and 2002).
