Administrative data
- Endpoint:
- toxicity to terrestrial plants: long-term
- Type of information:
- migrated information: read-across from supporting substance (structural analogue or surrogate)
- Adequacy of study:
- weight of evidence
- Reliability:
- 2 (reliable with restrictions)
- Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
- other: Guideline study, limited documentation, not reliable for the NOEC from a non-verifiable/non-published source.

- seed germination/root elongation toxicity test
- Study type:
- laboratory study
- Substrate type:
- natural soil
- Limit test:
- no
Test conditions
- Test temperature:
- 21 ±4 °C
- pH:
- 7.5
- Moisture:
- Until germination: 25 – 30 % of moisture in soil = about 80 % of the water-holding capacity.
After seed emergence, with the covers removed, water loss was compensated daily by adding demineralised water. - Details on test conditions:
- TEST SYSTEM
- Testing facility: Climatic chamber
- Test container (type, material, size): Plastic trays, covered with a glass plate until germination.
- Amount of soil: 250 ml, 400 g soil (humid weight)
- Method of seeding: Ten seeds were sown in 0.25-L plastic trays containing 400 g soil with different concentrations
of the test substances at 25-30% moisture content. The trays were covered with glass plates
until germination of seedlings. After removal of the glass plates, evaporation of water was compensated
daily by adding demineralised water.
Only the first five germinated seedlings were used.
After 7 and 14 d, shoots were harvested by cutting them off at soil level, and the fresh weight was immediately determined.
- No. of seeds per container: 10 seeds/tray = 40 g soil/seed until germination.
- No. of plants (retained after thinning): 5
- No. of replicates per treatment group: 3
- No. of replicates per vehicle control: 3
