- Storage Conditions at Test Facility: at 20 °C ± 5 °C, in the dark - Key result
- Relative self-ignition temperature:
- > 400 °C
- Remarks on result:
- no self ignition observed under the test conditions
- Conclusions:
- In conclusion, the test item LZ 1442 is considered to be not auto-flammable, according to the criteria as described in the guideline.
- Executive summary:
The purpose of the study was to provide preliminary information on the auto flammability of LZ 1442 at elevated temperatures. The test was performed according to EU test guidelines no. A.16. In the melting point study, the test item decomposed in the temperature range between approximately 162 °C to 164°C. Using a linear increase in temperature of 0.5 °C/min up to about 400 °C (above the decomposition range), the sample reached although the 400 °C while the oven had in the 1st Test 388.5 °C, in the 2nd Test 374.7°C and in the 3rd 395.5 °C, but the evaluation showed no self-ignition reaction. All of this results, a small rise in the graphic and the fact, that at the end of measurements the volume of the test item reduced a lot (the cube was empty); can be deduced that the test substance melted / decomposed further at the temperatures mentioned above. In conclusion, the test item LZ 1442 is considered to be not auto-flammable, according to the criteria as described in the guideline.
