Administrative data
First-aid measures
General information:
Take persons to a safe place. Observe self-protection for first aid. Always seek medical advice in the event of contact with this substance.
After inhalation:
Keep the patient calm. If unconscious place in stable sideways position. Protect against loss of body heat. If breathing stops, administer artificial respiration. Seek medical advice immediately and clearly identify substance.
After contact with the skin:
Remove contaminated clothes at once. Wash off with plenty of water or water and soap immediately for 10-15 minutes. In serious cases, use emergency shower immediately. Seek medical advice immediately and clearly identify substance.
After contact with the eyes:
Rinse immediately with plenty of water for 10-15 minutes. Keep eyelids well open to rinse the whole eye surface and eyelids with water. Seek medical advice and clearly identify substance.
After swallowing:
If conscious, give several small portions of water to drink. Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical advice immediately and clearly identify substance.
Advice for the physician:
Symptoms of poisoning may not become apparent until after many hours - medical monitoring is therefore required for at least 48 hours after any accident. Do not induce vomiting. Danger of aspiration. Product causes cancer. In the event of prolonged contact with the substance, longterm
monitoring of relevant parameters is advisable. Product causes heritable genetic damage.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media:
extinguishing powder , alcohol-resistant foam , carbon dioxide , dry sand .
Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons: water , halones .
Special exposure hazards arising from the substance or preparation itself, combustion products, resulting gases.
Hazardous combustion products: hydrogen chloride .
Special protective equipment for fire fighting: Use respiratory protection independent of recirculated air.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions:
Wear personal protection equipment (see section 8). Keep unprotected persons away. Safety Data Sheet (1907/2006/EC)
Environmental precautions: Observe local/state/federal regulations.
Methods for cleaning up: Take up mechanically and dispose of according to local/state/federal regulations. Absorb with liquid, mainly acid binding material and dispose of according to local/state/federal regulation. Cover larger quantities by near waterless foam and take up in container. Do not
flush away with water.
Handling and storage
Handling
-------------------------
Precautions for safe handling: Ensure adequate ventilation. Must be syphoned off in situ. Keep away from incompatible substances in accordance with section 10.2.
Precautions against fire and explosion: Keep away from sources of ignition and do not smoke. Take precautionary measures against electrostatic charging. Flammable vapors may accumulate and form explosive mixtures with air in containers, process vessels, including partial, empty and uncleaned containers and vessels, or other enclosed spaces. Vapours heavier than air, therefore inflammable gas mixture may form mainly near floor. Cool endangered containers with water.
==========================================================================================
Storage:
------------------------------
Conditions for storage rooms and vessels: Protect from oxygen admission (air).
Advice for storage of incompatible materials: not applicable
Further information for storage: Protect against moisture. Keep container tightly closed and store in a cool, well ventilated place.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Exposure limited and controlled:
------------------------------
Exposure in the work place limited and controlled:
General protection and hygiene measures: Do not breathe vapours. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not eat, drink or smoke when handling. Wash hands at the end of work and before eating.
Personal protection equipment: Respiratory protection gas mask filter ABEK . In case of long or strong exposure: positive pressure self contained
breathing apparatus .
Hand protection: protective gloves made of VITON, synthetic rubber . At any sign of decay or chemical permeability remove gloves immediately and replace.
Eye protection: tight fitting protective goggles . Where there is risk of splashing: protective shield . Provide work station with eye bathing equipment. Do not wear contact lenses.
Skin protection: acid-proof protective clothing .
Exposure to the environment limited and controlled: Prevent material from entering surface waters, drains or sewers and soil.
Further information for system design and engineering measures: Observe information in section 7. Observe regulations for protection against explosion.
Stability and reactivity
General information: If stored and handled in accordance with standard industrial practices no hazardous reactions are known.
Conditions to avoid: Heat, open flames, and other sources of ignition.
Materials to avoid: proton-active substances . Reacts with: water , basic substances , acids , alcohols , ketones/aldehydes .
Reaction causes the formation of: hydrogen chloride and heat .
Hazardous decomposition products: Under the effect of humidity, water and protic agents: hydrogen chloride .
Disposal considerations
Material
Recommendation: Dispose of according to regulations by incineration in a special waste incinerator. Observe
local/state/federal regulations.
Uncleaned packaging
Recommendation: Completely discharge containers (no tear drops, no powder rest, scraped carefully). Containers may be recycled or re-used. Observe local/state/federal regulations.
