The document describes over 100 recommended analytical methods that inspectors in Europe can use when checking compliance with REACH restrictions in Annex XVII. It is also useful for companies facing inspections.

Proceedings of the WSSD2020 Workshop published
Last January, ECHA organised a workshop discussing how the REACH and CLP processes contribute to the 2020 goals of the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD). The workshop aimed to agree on actions that can be taken to increase the overall contribution and impact on the safe use of chemicals.

Nearly 700 notifiers invited to agree on the classification and labelling of their substances
ECHA, in collaboration with the European Commission, Eurometaux, Cefic and FECC, is carrying out a pilot exercise to encourage notifiers to come to an agreement on the classification and labelling of their substances. ECHA has contacted close to 700 C&L notifiers of 11 substances, mostly in the metals sector, to invite them to come to an agreement. The web pages on how to update a C&L notification have also been updated.

Five new CLH intentions have been submitted:

Register for webinar on use maps
ECHA's next webinar will be on Use maps: How downstream users and registrants can benefit. It will be broadcast on 15 June 2016. The webinar is of interest to downstream user sector organisations and others who want to generate sector use maps. It is also relevant for registrants, who want to incorporate the information in dossiers and for downstream users to understand how their uses can be covered in the 2018 REACH registration.

Harmonised classification and labelling
ECHA has launched a public consultation on the harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) proposal for:
Propiconazole (ISO); (2RS,4RS;2RS,4SR)-1-{[2-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-4-propyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-yl]methyl}-1H-1,2,4-triazole (EC 262-104-4, CAS 60207-90-1). It is classified in Annex VI of the CLP Regulation for acute toxicity, skin sensitisation and hazardous to the aquatic environment (CLP Annex VI index No. 613-205-00-0). It is an active substance in plant protection products as well as biocidal products, and it is used as a fungicide within the EU. We invite you to provide comments on the hazard classes: carcinogenicity, germ cell mutagenicity, reproductive toxicity, acute toxicity, skin sensitisation, specific target organ toxicity – repeated exposure andhazardous to the aquatic environment.
