Adaptations to long-term aquatic toxicity testing
The Board of Appeal’s decision in case A-011-2018 has clarified that Annex IX, Section 9.1, Column 2 to REACH does not allow registrants to omit submitting information on long term toxicity to fish under Column 1. Instead, it must be understood as a trigger for providing further information on long-term aquatic toxicity depending on the properties of the substance.

New substance evaluation conclusion
A conclusion document is now available for 1,2-dichlorobenzene (EC 202-425-9, CAS 95-50-1), added to the CoRAP list in 2013 and evaluated by Hungary.

Ad hoc consultations on harmonised classification and labelling
ECHA' Executive Director gave the mandate to the Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC) to review the opinions adopted for the following substances - based on Article 77 of REACH. We are therefore looking for comments based on new information provided in relation to:
-
the classification for acute inhalation toxicity (Acute Tox. 3, H331; ATE = 3.0 mg/L) of 2-butoxyethanol; ethylene glycol monobutyl ether (EC 203-905-0, CAS 111-76-2);
-
the environmental classification (Aquatic Chronic 1, H410; M=10) of lead (EC 231-100-4, CAS 7439-92-1) and whether the powder and massive forms of lead warrant the same classification for hazards to the aquatic environment. Data relevant to the properties of the powder and massive forms is also sought.
The deadline for comments for both consultations is 7 September 2020.
