Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
The registered substance is an Alkyl phosphate and stearyl amine salts (EC = 952-252-4), mainly composed by primary alkylamines (CAS 90640-32-7, UVCB) and phosphoric acid, octadecyl ester (CAS 39471-52-8, Multi-Constituent). Both elements present a long hydrogenated (saturated) carbon chain combinaison mono/diester phosphate with primary amine (16 to 18 carbon atoms).
Two tests on terrestrial micro-organisms are available on Phosphoric acid, octadecyl ester (CAS 39471-52-8) according OECD 216 and 217 and under GLP. The test material showed no significant adverse effect on the nitrogen activity of soil microorganisms at a test concentrations of up to and including 1000 mg/kg over a 28-Day period. The most sensible effect of Phosphoric acid, octadecyl ester (CAS 39471-52-8) is the NOEC for carbon transformation in soil was determined to be NOEC = 320 mg/kg. This value is therefore considered as the worst case value for and have been used as read-across for the registered substance.
A NOEC of 1000 mg/kg dw for soil micro-organisms can be justified for Coco alkyl amine in a read across approach as well.
The worst case value, the NOEC of 320 mg/kg is then converted to the corresponding value of the salt, resulting to a NOEC of 496 mg/kg (MW of Phosphoric acid, octadecyl ester = 454,7, MW of the registered substance = 710,7 g/mol (256 g/mol Primary alkylamine salt + 454,7 g/mol Phosphoric acid, octadecyl ester)).
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Long-term EC10 or NOEC for soil microorganisms:
- 496 mg/kg soil dw
