IUCLID 5.3 is now available

The new version of IUCLID is available on the IUCLID website. Registrants are encouraged to install IUCLID 5.3 in order to be ready to submit dossiers into the new REACH-IT version 2.2, which will be released in April 2011. However, registrants wishing to submit new dossiers or updates before that release date must still use IUCLID 5.2.
Helsinki, 25 February 2011 - The new version of IUCLID includes several updates of the OECD Harmonised Templates used to report information from studies on chemicals. Additional modifications were made:
- to allow the preparation of new dossier types: e.g. Downstream User Reports (Article 38 of the REACH Regulation), Notifications of Substances in Articles (cf. Article 7(2) of REACH) or Applications for Authorisation (cf. Article 62 of REACH). These new dossiers can be submitted with the next REACH-IT version 2.2 only;
- to take into account the upcoming publication of the 2nd Adaptation to Technical Progress of the CLP Regulation.
In addition, several other functionalities have been enhanced (details are available in the IUCLID 5.3 release note).
Installation of IUCLID 5.3 and submission to REACH-IT
The current IUCLID 5.2 version must still be used for the preparation of dossiers that will be submitted before the release of the new REACH-IT version (2.2) in April 2011. The new IUCLID 5.3 version must be used for the preparation of dossiers for submission after the release of the new REACH-IT version (for additional information see ECHA news alert published on 17/02/2011).
All data from previous IUCLID 5 versions can be imported into IUCLID 5.3 - but not the reverse.
Installation manuals are included in the installation packages of the distributed and stand-alone versions and can be obtained from the IUCLID website.
Update of existing plug-ins for IUCLID 5.3
Plug-ins currently available for IUCLID 5.2 will have to be updated for IUCLID 5.3. These updated plug-ins will be made available at the same time as the release of the new version of REACH-IT.
